Lagoons Creek Rejuvenation, West Mackay

This project aim is to rejuvenate the lower section of Lagoon’s Creek in West Mackay by improving water quality entering the Pioneer River and improving the visual aesthetics of the area and increasing biodiversity. Project works included bulk earthworks to construct two wetland ponds and the reformation of 300m of existing creek line, supply and installation of large quantities of rock for the construction of retaining walls and protection works.

Mira Flores Estate Subdivision Stages 1 - 5

We recently completed the construction of a staged residential subdivision development at Beaconsfield where we have developed more than 180 residential lots over a number of stages. Currently 5 stages out of 7 have been completely finished. Works consisted of 350,000 m3 of bulk earthworks, road pavement construction, stormwater and drainage installation, sewerage, NBN and electrical services, water and sewer reticulation, sewer pump stations and multiple external intersection upgrades. The project took place over a number of years where as a result of the quality of the work we produced while adhering to budget and time constraints additional stages were constantly awarded to us. Major earthworks and stormwater installation works were completed throughout the site and essential services were connected for new housing lots.

Mackay Christian College Providence Project

This project involved the civil works for a 32 lot residential subdivision and civil works for an 800 pupil private primary school on a 10 hectare site. Works included bulk earthworks to the new school and residential allotments including the supply and placement of over 75,000 m3 of imported fill material, the construction of carparks for the school and internal access roads and extension of existing streets and the construction of new cul-de-sacs and the installation of significant quantities of stormwater, water and sewer reticulation and electrical conduits.

Field of Dreams Parkland Upgrade

Haber Xcavations was engaged by the Mackay Regional Council to undertake the civil works associated with the first stage of the Field of Dreams Parkland Upgrade in Sarina. Project works consisted of the construction of a carpark to the Southern extents of the park and the construction of internal roads and a roundabout along with associated pathways to the Northern section of the park. All works were constructed to adhere to DTMR standards and specifications. Throughout construction works had to be managed to allow the park and neighbouring businesses to continue to operate throughout the construction of the project.

Project works consisted of the following

• Extension of leachate storage pond 60 x 30
• Excavation and contour development – 75,000 m2
• Cartage and placement of 3,500 m3 of mulch
• Cartage and placement of 26,400 ton of clay based material
• Supply and planting of 2,200 tube stock

Middlemount RRC - Earthworks Stage 3

In early 2017 we were commissioned by the Isaac Regional Council to finalise the construction of the rehabilitation of the Middlemount RRC. The landfill site had been recently closed as a result of the site not having in place proper compaction measures throughout its operation. As part of the ongoing rehabilitation efforts for the site we were engaged to complete the design and construction of the capping, stormwater runoff drainage and leachate controls for the site. This involved extension of existing leachate storage dams, capping of landfill, placement of mulch to batters, planting of native plants and construction of drainage swales throughout the site.

• Installation of 600 m of shared pathways
• Laying of 4,300 m2 of turf
• Installation of 75 m of handrails
• Drainage works – including pipe installation, headwall construction & rock protection

Meadowland Soundshell - Footpath Construction

In 2013 the Mackay Regional Council engaged us to complete the Meadowland Soundshell – Footpath Construction and Associated Works project at the Botanic Gardens. The project involved earthworks, culvert installation, gabion mattress pavement works and the construction of concrete shared paths at the new soundshell at the Botanic Gardens. Other associated works included drain construction, concrete edging, drainage systems which included the laying pipes and construction of headwalls and the construction of a driveway.

Project works consisted of the following

• Concrete footpath varying widths – 880 m2
• Driveway construction – 40 m2
• Monolithically cast median islands – 30 m2
• Installation of bikesafe fencing – 32 m
• Construction of retaining wall – 20 m

Slade Point Shared Pathway - Stage 1

Location: Slade Point, Mackay

In late 2016 we undertook the construction of the Slade Point Shared Pathway for the Mackay Regional Council. Works included excavating the existing grass footpath and constructing 2-2.5 m wide concrete pathway that matched into existing driveways. Works also consisted of the construction of concrete median islands and adjusting existing islands to meet today’s requirements. A link block wall was also constructed along with bike safe fencing throughout a section of the pathway
